MUSIC

I started to play music as a young child and was part of a family band. My father had played music professionally and wanted that we learned to play several musical instruments. We started performing as a group in Ireland at the local music festivals, theatre performances and religious events. We became quite well known for our abilities to perform as a family, and when we moved to Canada we also performed around Alberta including large folk festivals, TV and radio. Our family has created music albums, and continues to this day to be quite musical. My older brother performs professionally, and my older sister has produced several albums. My younger sister has performed in a traditional Irish music group playing traditional musical instruments. I have tended to stay in the teaching Band, beginner strings, and choir areas. My parents played music professionally until their early 80s and continue to 'jam' at home.
